Leadership Training weekend for NCOs : Brecon Beacons : 14th-16th November 2014
Friday
Now happily installed in the bunkhouse. A good journey down in the dry. The boys cooked tea, (excellent spagbolbunkhouse)cleared up, and have conducted the risk assessment for tomorrow,s walk. We have had a good discussion about leadership styles over tea. A game of Uno is raging in the lounge next to the raging log fire.
Saturday
Edmund took us on a 12 mile, 6 hour walk, starting and finishing at Llanthany Priory and taking in Gospel Pass. The sun shone for most of the day. Some photos attached.
We now have lots of food. Team Zach cooked bangers and mash with beans or cabbage, and pie and custard. Team Ali did the washing up and team Phil cleaned out the minibus and other chores. They are all getting on great and have just finished a mega game of cards.
The leadership talks are based on the dynamic behind Philemon and are going down well. Tonight we looked at how Paul perfectly demonstrated John Adair's model of action centred leadership and we focused on developing individuals thru Paul,s development of Onesimus - a "useless slave" who became the Bishop of Collosae.
Vision, strategy and planning tomorrow.
Sunday
We slept in til 9am and as it was all so dismal and misty decided to make a move. We did a full cooked breakfast, a talk, thoroughly cleaned and packed, prepared lunch and were away by 11am. The boys all worked well.
We stopped at Forest Coal Pit north of Abergavenny and climbed The Sugar Loaf.
Now on the Bridge. Over coffee we,ll be planning the panto with the lads. An excellent weekend.
